Wild landscapes with exceptional views
At the top of Pilat, the beauty of the panoramas reaches new heights! Take a breath of fresh air and enjoy a breathtaking natural scenery...
As the last foothills of the Massif Central, the crests follow one another without one looking like the other: the Pic des Trois Dents, the Crêt de l'Oeillon, the Crêt du Rachat, the Crêt de l'Etançon, the Crêt de la Chèvre, the Crêt de la Perdrix, invisible from the foot of these mounts covered in forest, moorland and "chirats", and the distant Crêt de Chaussître, secluded in the south-west of the massif.
Above 900m, on their flanks, imposing grey stone flows seem to have poured down from the summit to the bottom of the mountains. This geographical phenomenon is unique in Europe.
The weather conditions have over time shaped this beautiful landscape and frost and ice have contributed to the shattering of bigger stones into thousands of pieces, resulting in a complex puzzle caught in ice.
