With its pristine green spaces and abundant nature all round, at the gateway to St Etienne and Lyon, the Parc of Pilat is the ideal playground for all cyclists. You will find a multitude of paths, small quiet roads, two greenways and historic passes that are accessible in all seasons! All this at the heart of diverse landscapes and sumptuous panoramas.
The Pilat is also a well-known playground for mountain bikers.
There are 11 passes including 3 of 1st category: Oeillon (1233m), Chaubouret (1201m) and Col de la République (1161m). The Col de la Republique was the first pass of over 1000 m in altitude crossed by the Tour de France in 1903.
When it comes to mountain biking, it is safe to say that the Parc du Pilat has seen the sport being pioneered on its soil. Its mountainous landscapes invite you to experience the thrill of 35 signposted circuits with the FFC label (Fédération Française de Cyclisme).
Finally, the Pilat offers 2 greenways, Via Fluvia and Via Rhôna for long-distance cycling or day trips.
