Surrounding 37 bell towers
At the southern end of the Pilat Massif, Chaussître looks towards the Monts du Velay, the Mezenc, the sucs of Yssingeaux and the Foréziens high plateaux.
From the summit marked by a large wooden cross and an orientation table at an altitude of 1,240 metres, you can see the landscape as the life-size map of the surrounding communes with their 37 bell towers scattered between the vast expanses of meadows, fields and forests that the largest bird of prey in Pilat, the circaet or "eagle Jean-le-blanc", likes to fly over in a few wingbeats.
