Lyon – City Of Lights

Every year in December, the festival of light is the most beautiful and an unmissable event whereby thousands of spectators can rediscover and enjoy, over 4 days, a number of artworks showcased through the city. Monuments and squares are transformed, from intimate installations to spectacular illuminations. Other key events such as the Nuits sonores and the Nuits de Fourvière dedicated to contemporary music, are worth looking out for during the month of May and June. Furthermore, Dance and Contemporary Art Biennial, the National Opera programme and the Théâtre des Célestins, offer wonderful cultural entertainment throughout the year as well as hundreds of concerts, shows and small festivals.
