The Parc du Pilat is an ideal place for hang-gliding.
Halfway between flatland flying and and mountain flying, it is perfect for both beginners who want to give it a try whilst on holiday, and experienced pilots.
About one hundred fans of the sport, mainly paragliders, fly over the Pilat.
In the Parc Naturel du Pilat, there are 3 sites which are officially recognised by the FFVL. These sites are managed and maintained by the club "Sous le Vent du Pilat":
• La Jasserie - Orientation O-NO
• L'œillon Sud "Le Crêt de Botte" - Orientation S
• L'œillon Est "l'Antenne" - Orientation E
At the take off points there are detailed information panels that specify the characteristics of the site, as well as advice and instructions to follow.
Those with their feet firmly planted on the ground can enjoy the view. The fans of this sport are always pleased to answer your questions.
Other sites used on a less frequent basis also exist in the Pilat... You just need to look up into the sky to find them!
And if by chance you pass a hitch-hiker on the side of the road, with an enormous backpack - Stop!
